Though my time is now over, I have to say I had a great time blogging for VH1 Hip Hop Honors. It was so neat to read everyone's comments and feel the excitement building for the big event, which was just as dope as I hoped it would be.
I'm sure the powers that be have been reading your comments asking for certain legends to be honored and all that will be considered carefully for coming years. In the meantime, let's keep dialoguing in our communities about how to keep this great art form alive and thriving. I mean, really look at the political, economic, and sociological circumstances that nourish hip hop. Ya dig...
As for me, I'm going to go back to being a freelance rap music critic for the Washington Post and the LA Times and whoever else gives a rat's ass about my opinions.
Peace and one love!

HIP HOP NEVER DIES....IT TRANSFORMS...Hip hop has been oppressed, but during this time... there is hopeful someone who is sitting and thinking of how to revive the real KRS ONE, Rakim, etc type of Hip Hop. Don't sleep one the power of growth through oppression
omg! i cant believe it! i missed it last night! i got grounded and so i had to skip it. what a burn! ]=

Can something be done about the radio playlist, the same unimaginative, sophomoric songs are played over & over,...there is music out there that's creative and entertaining...from hip hop groups that do not get any radio play...they give amazing concerts and are requested all over..."Jurassic 5" is one, their new cd "FEEDBACK" is WOW..but do you hear them on popular radio "NO"
just that same old crab....Jesus give someone else a break and some variety to the radios....and I can stop listening to my Mama's music....

why didnt aaliyah and lefteye be on the hip-hop honors they did music and it was hip-hop so why couldnt they be on their I know they wasnt doing music as long as all the others but they still need to be honor for what they did do and they should also still be remebered just as well as the others.!?
Why isn't Kool Moe Dee on this show? Three years and he still isnt honored. The Treacherous Three and his solo career was amazing. He is very underrated and if he isnt on 2007 then whoever picks the honorees needs a new job.
This man was from the late 70s. This show is about honoring the past and the guys that started the whole thing. He was one of them, just ask Busy Bee and LL.
