Yes, yes, y'all. We’ve been
feeding you little snippets of some great show performances for the last few
days. Driving you crazy, right? But if you roll through VSPOT now, you can get
the full hit. There's Diddy and crew tipping the hat to the Beasties, Talib
Kweli, Styles P, and Jadakiss putting the mics in the air on the stone classic
"Paid in Full" and "Eric B For President," Rakim himself floating some rhymes
from "Microphone Fiend," Cube kicking it for South Central with a full run
through "Steal the Show," Fat Joe, George Clinton, and Erykah Badu spreading
Bam’s message around the world ("What's the name of this nation?/Zulu, Zulu!),
and the ever-lovin' Wu working their way through "Triumph." Watch 'em any time
you want; watch ‘em over and over again. Let a pal know they're finally up.
Here's where to start: www.vh1.com/shows/events/hip_hop_honors/2006/videos.jhtml

I love the show it was dope. Lil Kim always hold it down. This one goes down in history it was off the hook.
one word hot
Where was ghost?
Where the hell was Dre? does Yella still have beef w/ the rest of N.W.A?
WHERE WAS GHOST FACE KILLA!!
Yo Ghostface probably had some contract issue, that's how it is in the biz..right now Meth is still trying to push his album so that's why he was running all up in that joint, including that he bumped Ice T.
yo dat wuz some funky buttstink. 1st of all I waited 2hrs. 2 share my WU w/ some credits. 2nd how the he double do they call thereselves tributing the Wu w/o Toney. RZA iz numba 1 and Ghost iz no.2 so what tha? 3rd yyyyyyyyyy the he dbl. did'nt they let The Chef spit my verse in Triumph. A yo das amazin gun in ya mouth.................
Unfortunately Tony Stark, U God, Inspecta Deck, the Capodonna, and the rest of the Wu Tang are not hitting no more..I was down with the Shaolin back in 92'..But this stuff has got too comercial. They need to stay a few months in Staten to get their heads straight. Just like Rakim said Real Hip Hop is dying.
I agree with Gibbz. I thought Dre and NWA squashed all their beefs before Eazy died. Hell, Dre and Cube even put a record together. He wasn't down with either one of them.
Ya know one thing about Rakim Allah's performance, is when he went into his new joint. He dropped Dre's name in it. I kinda of thought it was a diss to Dr. DRe. In case ya didn't know Rakim and Cube were supposed to get signed to Aftermath records. To me I would've rather see them on the label instead of that punk ass Game.
PEACE TO GODS!!!!!!! You did a good job and if there is one we don't do and that is have beef. So if any of you think this is a gang your wrong and you need to go back and here what the songs from the WU and RAKIM are telling us. PEACE!!!!!!!!
y'all ought to be ashamed. music is what it's all about. not chicks with big tits, or the bootie call. it's the music.
Yo no doubt that Rakim Allah is the God MC that all of the East Coast should bow to. I went through some tough s*$t back in the day, and if it wasn't for the East coast flow I wouldn't live today. But West Coast has the trininty. Eazy, Ice T, and Kid Frost. The west coast toughen me up in my late teens. When is somebody gonna honor our latin hip hop dons??
what was the name of the song beastie boys performed??
Hip hop honors has been going on for 3 years now. How is that the person with the first gold album in Hip Hop the one who took it to another level has yet to be honored. Kurtis Blow should have been in the first Hip Hop Honors show even Rev. Run says he is the son of Kurtis Blow. I just feel that Kurtis Blow should have been honored already.
Peace to real hip hop headz, YO this was the best HHH show out of the 3. All 5 boroughs represented and two of the best from the west! Rakim was well repped by ill lyricists Kweli, Black Thought, and Raekwon. Much love to Russell Simmons to for puttin us onto the business side of our culture. Last but not least, the gods from Staten Island the Wu Tang came tight! Ghost shoulda been there though!
We all should want to know why we can't see or here Mr. Ice cubes face or his songs on this site?
I love the performance by Ice Cube.I went to Middle School (Hughes Jr. High), with him in Ventura, California what we call "The Valley".
I saw Ice Cube at the Baldwin Hills Mall in L.A., and I was screaming to the top of my lungs but he never noticed me. Maybe by writing this e-mail, by some miracle he'll get to read it...
HEY ICE CUBE, WHAT'S UP!"
THIS WAS THE GREATEST....i ENJOYED EVERY THING....HIP HOP WAS POP-----
Yea, it was nice but i had a few gripes also. Like lil jon and jeezy why bring wack rappers in. Also the female rappers, why don't they bring in Ms Hill and Jean Grae instead of Remy Ma, Lil kim, and Da Brat. Fat Joe shouldn't be there with the Zulu Nation, understandable that Q-Tip is the because of native toungesk kweli should be up there too
Much respect to Black Thought, Kweli, Q-Tip doing their thing, I like them even more. Someone ask why Thought was up there a lot? Its because he is a nice MC up there who can be down with hip-hop.
Rakim was nice, Bambatta tribute was the best one to me because it speaks the hip hop message and bboyin' anthem! ROCKIN DON'T STOPPIN PLANET ROCK
what were the total votes for the freestyle 59?
What's the deal with Tracy Morgan doing the introduction for the Beastie Boys? They couldn't get an old Def Jam artist like LL or Chuck D to do it??
Even though that was a disappointment, it all changed once the B Boys took the stage and killed it Brooklyn style!
Lil Kim performance was the best of the night. Definitely one of the greats. She'll go down in hip hop history.
One of these years they'll get it right ,wheres Kurtis Blow AND Whodini? I'll watch this show when they are finally honored.During the video age of hip hop no group had more videos and classic hits than WHODINI. The FREAKS COME OUT AT NIGHT,BIG MOUTH,ONE LOVE,FRIENDS,FUNKY BEAT,ESCAPE AND KURTIS BLOW had one of the biggest hits of all time THE BREAKS!
THE SHOW WAS HOTT, LIL KIM HELD IT DOWN AND WHAT ABOUT ICE CUBE STILL LOOKING GOOD AS EVER, THAT SONG WITH LIL JON "GO TO CHURCH" WAS SO CRUNK..WELL DONE. WHAT ABOUT THE RAKIM TRIBUTE..AWESOME. THE WHOLE SHOW WAS A GOOD LOOK..
